The name derives from the Greek and means "oak". It is a dry red wine that is obtained from Nero d'Avola vines whose carefully selected grapes, nourished by the fertile soils and cradled by the mild Sicilian climate, age for 12 months in special Allier oak barriques, confer a soft structure, elegant tannins and intense aromas of blackberries. From the characteristic ruby red, fruity aromas and notes of vanilla and licorice come to the nose. In the mouth a slight hint of officinal herbs accompanies the velvety taste, enriched by light toasting notes.
